Linda-Marie Martinez is an instructional designer, medical illustrator, and educational game designer. Linda-Marie's research and career interests are in creating engaging learning materials for the fields of science and medicine. She works in a broad range of mediums accomplish this goal. She is passionate about teaching things well, so no one is ever discouraged from learning something new because it seems "too hard".

Linda-Marie attended St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and received her B.A. in Art where she won several art awards. These included 3 illustration awards from the Texas Intercollegiate Press for her political cartoons. Then, unexpectedly, she taught high school math and designed curriculum for the Austin Independent School District. As a teacher, Linda Marie won the award of “Teacher of Promise” her first year teaching due to her dedication to helping her students learn in the most fun ways possible. Her lessons engaged and accommodated students with ADHD, autism, and who were emotionally disturbed. Linda Marie passionately advocated for her students with disabilities to be treated with equity.

She taught for 12 years before switching to a career in medical illustration and educational video game design. She also just completed her Masters Degree in Biomedical Visualization from The University of Illinois at Chicago. She designed and storyboarded an educational video game about the cell cycle, called “Cell Cyclin” for her graduate research project.
